National Environment Sustainability Awards

The National Environment Sustainability Awards (NESA) aim to recognize and celebrate outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability in Uganda. These awards will honor individuals, organizations, and communities that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to protecting and preserving the environment. By highlighting best practices and innovative solutions, NESA seeks to inspire broader participation in sustainable development efforts across the country. NESA, 2025 is slated to take place on June 27, 2025 under the theme "Fostering Cleaner Production for Sustainable Development.

Objectives

• Recognize Excellence: to acknowledge and reward exemplary efforts in environmental conservation and sustainability.
• Promote Awareness:  to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental sustainability and the role of various stakeholders.
• Encourage Innovation: to encourage the development and implementation of innovative solutions to environmental challenges.
• Foster Collaboration: to promote collaboration among government, private sector, civil society, and communities in environmental sustainability initiatives.
• Enhance Compliance: to encourage adoption of compliance with environmental regulations and standards across all stakeholders.
• Common platform: To provide a platform where individuals organisations, companies, and developments partners in Uganda can showcase their impact, share knowledge, and network with like-minded individuals and organisations.
