Thursday June 5, 2025, the Executive Director of NEMA,
Barirega Akankwasah, PhD
and top management of NEMA met with delegates from the World Bank to discuss initiatives aimed at enhancing Uganda’s environmental and social systems.
Environmental sustainability remains a central theme in reinforcing Uganda’s commitment to responsible and forward-looking development.
The delegation included representatives from Ethiopia, Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Washington, D.C.
The discussions focused on sustainable environmental management as a key driver for inclusive growth, employment, and wealth creation.
