Introducing the Maiden Environmental Environment Information Network’s News Bulletin ,We wish to introduce to you, the Environment Information Network’s maiden Bulletin. This is the latest publication from the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA). The Environmental Information Network (EIN) is made up of all institutions (Government, Academia and CSOs) that generate, store and publish environmental information. EIN was established to enable sectors (lead agencies) at national level have a forum for collaboration in data and information sharing as well as sharing resources. Issue 1 highlights the management of fires in protected areas by Uganda Wildlife Authority, assessment of loss of forest cover, unpredictable rainfall start, assessment of flooding of Lwajjali wetland and a success story on restoration of Limoto wetland. This issue also features selected environmental topics and showcasing the use of available Earth Observation technologies for monitoring and reporting.
